Records, assessment and placement
Admission may involve review of previous school records, age and the last successfully completed class, an academic or placement assessment, an informal interview where appropriate, and confirmation that a place is available in the requested class.
Conditional admission and class placement
Where appropriate, an offer may be conditional on identified academic or developmental needs being supported. Classes are formed to maintain balanced learning groups; the admissions guidance states that requests for a particular teacher or class are not normally accommodated.
Age appropriateness
Age appropriateness is considered alongside academic assessment and previous educational experience. The current age tables for each RFA school remain the first reference point.

Admission is open without discrimination on the basis of race, colour, nationality or ethnic origin.
